This loss often manifests as weak performance, muscle problems such as tying up, and lactic acid formation in the muscles. Hot temperatures and increased physical performance increase electrolyte loss. Regular supplementation of electrolytes ensures a balanced mineral balance for the horse even during high exertion and warm temperatures.
