Equigard® is formulated for feeding easy-keepers and overweight horses that need a diet low in starch and sugar, or that are at elevated risk for metabolic problems due to their constitution. To stabilize insulin function and carbohydrate and fat metabolism, vital nutrients such as magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, omega-3 fatty acids, lecithin, and antioxidants like vitamin E and flavonoids from fruit are particularly important.
